CHEST Papers In Press posts all peer-reviewed and accepted manuscripts (original research articles and selected articles from other sections) that subsequently will be edited and published in the regular print and online versions of CHEST. CHEST Papers In Press articles are searchable in Medline, Google Scholar, Yahoo, and other search engines; they are citable and establish publication priority. An article should be cited by its Digital Object Identifier (DOI):

These manuscripts are published online approximately every two weeks, providing readers with quick access to the articles. These manuscripts are posted before they have been edited or proofread; the final published version may contain substantive or non-substantive corrections. Readers are encouraged to check back for the final, typeset article. Future print publication of the manuscript may differ as a result of copyediting; there may also be differences in the quality of the graphics.
Embargo Policy:
Even though they appear online, CHEST Papers In Press are embargoed from media coverage until they appear in a forthcoming print issue of CHEST. When a Paper in Press appears in a print issue of CHEST, the article will adhere to the standard CHEST embargo policy.
